Day 1 - Arrival to Daniel Oduber International Airport (Liberia, Costa Rica). A representative from Swiss Travel Service will meet and greet you upon arrival. A regular transfer will bring you to Arenal Paraiso Resort (or similar hotel in area) where you will stay three nights.

About Arenal Volcano Area: The North area, in which the Arenal Volcano is located, is proud to be the home for the Cano Negro Wild Life Refuge, caves, waterfalls, forest reserves and a whole country within Costa Rica. The main attraction of this area is by far the Arenal Volcano, active since 1969 with its curative hot mineral springs and its manicured gardens. It rises 1,633 meters above sea level and casts an almost flawless silhouette on the land below. Arenal's last explosion was in 1969 but this volcano is far from dormant. Its constant rumblings are Arenal's most popular characteristics.

Day 2 - After breakfast you will take a tour to Arenal Hanging bridges, it has a total of 14 bridges and a network of trails immersed in the tropical rain forest, about 2.5 miles from the Arenal Volcano National Park. The bridges and trails were made considering all types of visitors and their security, this is a family oriented attraction where people from all ages can appreciate the biodiversity of the rain forest and enjoy the great views of the Arenal Volcano from the bridges. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to take a walk through the lava trails of the Arenal volcano and appreciate how nature has found its way out to recover the forest from lava flows. The Arenal Volcano is considered one of the most active volcanoes in the world; it has been active since 1969 when it suddenly exploded, destroying all vegetation that covered the cone. Nowadays, trees and vegetation are starting to regenerate in some areas of the volcanoes base.

Day 3 - Today you will take the Ca–o Negro Wildlife Refuge Boat Tour. After picking you up from your hotel the bus ride is approximately 1.5 hours, where we first will arrive to Los Chiles; a culturally mixed village located only 2 miles from the Nicaraguan border. From here, we will start our journey on a 4-hour boat safari through the rainforest and pastureland to the huge Cano Negro Marsh. Cano Negro is considered one of the most important nesting sites for migrant waterfowls in Costa Rica. Our experienced guide will bring the area alive for you, and you might see literally hundreds of birds while you're out there. Some other species like monkeys, iguanas, sloths, turtles and caimans can also be seen in this area.

Day 4 - After a delicious breakfast you will be transferred to your additionally selected hotel in the Guanacaste Beach area.

Day 2 - After breakfast you will take a river safari on The Peñas Blancas River. This is a very scenic river, surrounded by the rain forest and rich in wildlife. While you quietly paddle down the river on an inflatable boat, the peaceful sound of nature will give you a sense of relaxation while the boat passes monkeys, iguanas, sloths, crocodiles and numerous tropical birds will appear in the trees and on the riverbanks. This is a soft nature experience that will give you the opportunity to immerse in the daily life of a river. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to take a walk through the lava trails of Arenal Volcano and appreciate how nature has found its way out to recover the forest from lava flows. Day 3 - After breakfast, you will take a regular transfer to the Monteverde area, this transfer is a combination of ground/boat/ground through the Arenal Lake. Roads are gravel roads, a little bit bumpy and dusty but this is a beautiful sightseeing drive bordering the Arenal Lake with great views of the mountains and the Arenal Volcano. Check and overnight at Trapp Family Lodge (or similar hotel in area).

Day 4 - In the morning you will visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest Private Reserve, which is world famous for its cloud forest. This forest is rich in tropical flora and fauna, which supports six distinct ecological communities of plants and animals with over 2,000 plant species and more than 320 species of birds, including the Resplendent Quetzal with its metallic green feathers and golden highlights. Afternoon will be at leisure to relax and explore on your own the many optional activities in the area.

Day 5 - In the morning, transfer to the Guanacaste province in our North Pacific coast.
