New York - April 7, 2010:
Travelers arriving in Israel this summer will be able to enjoy the Dead Sea from a new point of view with all-new flight-seeing, skydiving and scuba tours.
SunAir will offer travelers several personal guided flight-seeing tours, including a 20-minute flight over Masada, Ein Gedi oasis and the contours of the Dead Sea; a 50-minute flight over Mount Sodom, the crater and fields at Ne'ot HaKikar and Kikar Sodom; and a 70-minute flight around the entire Dead Sea region and Jerusalem.
Travelers will be able to participate in two-mile tandem skydives above the Dead Sea with views across the Judean Desert, Dead Sea, Jordan Valley and Moab Mountains. "The adventure sports at the Dead Sea will attract a new wave of thrill-seekers and travelers to one of the world's most intriguing natural wonders," says Arie Sommer, Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America. "These new opportunities will show travelers the Dead Sea from a whole new perspective."
The two-day scuba-diving excursions will provide travelers with a rare and unique perspective of the Dead Sea and include accommodation, training, lectures, dry diving and a Dead Sea diving certificate. The Dead Sea underwater excursions are designed for expert scuba divers.
